Thank you for your inquiry regarding procedures for marriage in the United States Virgin Islands.

Enclosed is an Application for Marriage Licenses to be completed by you and your fiancé. Upon receipt of the Marriage Application, an eight-day waiting period is required, during which time the application is posted for public inspection. Before your marriage license can be issued, you are required to personally appear before the Clerk of the Court or her designee. Office hours are 8:00am through 5:00pm Monday through Friday, except holiday; and on Saturdays form 10:00am through 12;00 noon, except Carnival Saturday. Additionally, by pre-arrangement and upon the payment of a $150.00 fee, we will be available on Sundays between 9:30 and 10:30 am.

No physical examination or blood test is required. If you or your fiancé have been divorced, it is required that a certified copy of the divorce decree be filed along with the application for examination by the court prior to issuance of the license. The fee for filing a marriage application is $50.00 which is "non-refundable" and the fee for the marriage license is also $50.00. If you wish to be married by a clergy, you may write directly to the denomination of your choice. We cannot make arrangements for churches. (b) Length of stay
