My name is Elaine Delsol, I am a long time resident of St. John, and think this island is one of the most romantic and beautiful places on earth.

If you have decided to have your wedding here on St John I will be happy to help you with the ceremony. I am not a wedding planner, but will be glad to give you the names and contact numbers of planners, photographers, florists etc. I have the approval of the Territorial Court to perform wedding ceremonies in the Virgin Islands. I am also an ordained minister with the non-denominational Universal Life Church.

With a background in the restaurant and catering industries I have been present at many wedding celebrations, from the simple affairs with family only to the very elaborate gatherings with hundreds of guests. In all of these, the reason for the celebration remains the same, the witnessing of the life long commitment of two people in love.

So whatever your plan may be, two of you on the beach or the entire clan at a hilltop villa, I will be happy to help you plan the ceremony which is at the core of the event. I will be available to meet with you prior to your wedding, by phone or email before you arrive, or in person once you are on island, to create with you a personalized ceremony.

On the following pages you will find sample ceremonies, use one in its entirety or mix bits and pieces together. Your wedding is a very personal event and the service should reflex your own beliefs and ideas. I will work with you to create a unique ceremony, which will be a reflection of all that you feel for each other.

The fee for my services is $250, this includes the pre-wedding consultation to create a service unique to you, your wedding ceremony at the place of your choosing, and the certified copy of your marriage license.

You will need to obtain a marriage license in the US Virgin Islands, there are no blood tests required and the waiting period is eight days. You can download an application here, and mail it in, but you must pick up the license together and in person, before the ceremony.
